Multiband Circularly Polarized Stacked Microstrip Antenna

In this paper, a multiband circularly polarized capacitive coupled stacked microstrip antenna is proposed. The multiband circular polarization (CP) is achieved by corner truncation, embedding slits and inclined slots on a three layered antenna structure. The proposed antenna also shows wideband behavior with an impedance bandwidth of 52.13% in the frequency range of 4.85GHz to 8.27GHz, while 3 dB axial ratio bandwidths in five CP bands are 0.51%, 4.54%, 0.33%, 0.83% and 1.29% in the frequency range of 5.12GHz to 5.15GHz, 5.45GHz to 5.70GHz, 5.90GHz to 5.92GHz, 6.25GHz to 6.31GHz and 7.68GHz to 7.78GHz, respectively. The antenna prototype is fabricated, and simulated results as axial ratio, radiation pattern and the reflection coefficient are validated with measured result.
